About the Lodge
Opened in 1960, built around a granite kopje in the Seronera Valley, central Serengeti. On the Great Migration route. On-site waterholes attract lions, elephants, leopards, and buffalo. Swimming pool carved into the rock. 2 km from Seronera Airstrip; approx. 5 minutes from the hot-air balloon launch point. Restaurant and main area burned down in a 2014 fire; subsequently rebuilt and reopened.

Meals are served buffet-style in a restaurant built of rock and wood, featuring both international and Tanzanian cuisine, with an outdoor terrace available for evening dining only, as resident mongooses are known to steal food during daylight hours. The lodge has a bar and lounge, plus an outdoor bar beside the pool. Facilities include 24-hour reception, free Wi-Fi in common areas, complimentary breakfast, a souvenir shop, a viewing deck, and a tour and balloon booking desk. Currency exchange, laundry and babysitting on request are available, along with safes at reception, and major credit cards are accepted. The lodge is typically sold on a full-board basis, with game drives, park fees, balloon safaris and drinks charged separately. Rates start from approximately $150 per night.
