About the Lodge
The only high-end lodge and the only full-service accommodation inside Kidepo Valley National Park, Uganda's most remote wilderness in the country's northeastern corner near the South Sudan border. Built around a picturesque rocky kopje overlooking the wildlife-rich Narus Valley, with everything handcrafted by local artisans using natural materials to blend into the landscape. Wildlife, including buffalo, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and jackals, regularly wander through the grounds and around the on-site waterhole, often visible from the rooms and the rock pool. Apoka Safari Lodge offers ten expansive cottages with natural canvas walls and thatched roofs, clustered around a dramatic rocky kopje with endless views across the Narus Valley savannah. Everything is handcrafted by local artisans, with hardwood floors, hand-woven woollen carpets, large hand-hewn beds draped in mosquito nets, and a private sitting room and veranda. Each en-suite bathroom features double sinks, a large stone shower and solar-heated water, while a signature outdoor stone bathtub carved from the rock invites starlit soaks. The configuration comprises four twin cottages and six double cottages.
