About the Lodge

A tented camp set in a patch of evergreen forest just outside the southern boundary of Kibale National Park, bordering the Magombe swamp and Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. Roughly a 10-minute drive from Kanyanchu Visitor Centre, the starting point for chimpanzee trekking. Red and black-and-white colobus monkeys are regularly seen from the verandas, along with forest birds and butterflies. Run by Nature Lodges Uganda, built on eco-friendly principles. Located off the Fort Portal–Kamwenge road past Bigodi village.

Kibale Forest Camp offers ten to twelve African safari-style tents tucked into the surrounding forest, each comfortably furnished with twin or double beds, a private en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet, a dressing room, and a hot-water shower, and a private veranda where colobus monkeys are frequently seen. A budget option of seven to nine non-self-contained tents is also available, furnished with comfortable beds, bedside tables and charging points beneath grass-thatched roofs, sharing a communal ablution block with showers and flushing toilets. All bedding and towels are provided.
