The idea behind a 4×4 system is that the vehicle can rely on increased traction, even in difficult terrain. That also means that the vehicle retains its ability to drive forward even if one wheel is temporarily stuck or lifted into the air. In general, a 4×4 system provides you with added safety and peace of mind on an off road trail.
