KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
Kidepo Valley National Park is located in the northeastern Uganda in Kabong, Karamojong region about 510 kilometers by road from Uganda capital Kampala and the largest town in the region being Moroto and racked to be the third best National Park in Uganda that a visitor shouldn’t miss on a visit in Uganda. Though its isolated, doesn’t take away its being a virgin place for wildlife viewer for visitor on a Uganda safari. This could be one of the best national parks in Africa to harbor most of the extinct animals that can’t be found anywhere in Ugandan National Park.
Kidepo NP is right at the core of savannah landscape right next to fewer mountainous bodies so, planning a visit at Kidepo valley may set a time to remember, the exceptional safari experience, this national park is another spot for culture for those interested, the Karamojong culture, Acholi people and their culture plus many cultural groups in north east
The outstanding lodging at Apoka safari lodge, Kidepo savannah lodge, Nga Moru wilderness camp with cool atmosphere. It was made into a game park in 1962 and now harboring over 72 mammal and 470 bard species and in prime viewing location with (557sq mi)1442 square kilometers and also good scenery of mountain Morungole and transected by Kidepo and Narus rivers
The common animals here include, elephants, zebras, bush pigs, Rothschild giraffe, Eland, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Buffalo, Oibi, Lion, Leopards, Sported Hyenas, Black-backed and Side backed buffalo herds.

Narus Valley Game Drive
Narus valley contains only permanent water points in Kidepo valley national park. This makes it perfect location for scouting big game congregating for most of the years. In Narus, you will find animals like buffalos, elephants, warthogs, giraffes, lions, zebras, and cheetah.
Kidepo Valley Dame Drive
Though Kidepo valley doesn’t have a rich game like Narus, it has an impressive scenerly. While at Kidepo valley drive the road intersects with Kidepo river and during the dry season white and Borassus palm forest are the only remnants once following Kidepo valley
Birding at Kidepo Valley National Park
Kidepo valley national park has over 475 bird species of birds. Some of the birds found here are Abyssinian Roller, Purple Heron, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Red billed Oxpeckers, African Hoopoe, Red Cheeked Cordon Blue, Ripples’ Super Starlings and Karamojong A pails and many others and the Clapper Ton’s Francolin which can’t be found in any other game park in the whole country
The best places here for bird watching are in Narus Valleyand Namamukweny Valley northeast, what may surprise you, locally, the name Namamukweny means a place with no birds yet it has the best birding part in the park.
Birds like ostriches and secretary Birds are also here.
Cultural encounters at Kidepo Valley National Park
There are number of cultural groups that can be visited on a Uganda safari in Kidepo National Park. Cultures like the Karamojong communities, Leopard village, Muhokya village, and here you will find a chance to understand more about their community and cultural rewarding and many rewarding features, the famous manyata building style in Karamojong for the Karamojong where by family members build huts around and near as a way of bonding with one another. Hiking in Kidepo National Park
No visitor should miss hiking when visited Kidepo Valley National Park because it’s among the rewarding activities here There many mountains that a person may get interested in hiking like Lornyili as the most rewarding views exist here, a number of rewarding views during the activity along the different mountain slopes. Here exists montane forest that act as habitant for may primate species like the black and white colobus monkey, Kavirondo Bush Baby, Red tailed Monkeys and many. Among the most interesting things for visitors here you will have a chance to see the most interesting people called the IK people found along the higher elevation of the mountains.
