The 11-Day Tanzania Northern Circuit Safari is one of the most iconic safaris to do in Tanzania. This safari takes place along the Tanzania Northern Circuit, which is a very prominent route to follow in East Africa as it offers you an unforgettable wildlife experience across Tanzania’s National Parks. These include: Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, and Lake Manyara National Park. While on the safari, you view diverse terrain landscapes and abundant wildlife species.
Day 1
Arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you are picked up by a driver-guide who transfers you to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park via the Isebania border for a period of 6 to 7 hours. En route, have lunch, views of the green vegetation and bird species, then later, you shall get to the park.
Have an en-route Game Drive as you proceed to the check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Serengeti Sopa Lodge.
Day 2
Have breakfast, then proceed on a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. After breakfast, continue with a packed lunch and transfer to the park to enjoy a full-day game drive as you traverse from one point of the park to another, watching wildlife animals wander around their natural vegetation habitat.
The wildlife animals you view are lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, cheetah, wildebeest, hippo, etc. Take photos to keep them at midday, break off for lunch, and later continue on another session of Game Drive, which goes till late evening. Day 3
Morning breakfast, then embark on a journey to the stunning Ngorongoro Crater located a few kilometers off Serengeti National Park.
You shall transfer for a period of 2 to 3 hours with views of the green terrain, bird species en-route, then after a while reach the park and enjoy an en-route game drive as you proceed to check-in lodge for relaxation, Dinner and overnight. Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.
Day 4
Today, you explore the Ngorongoro Crater on a full-day game drive. Have breakfast, then with your packed lunch, you shall transfer to the park to enjoy watching the wildlife animals wander around their natural vegetation habitat.
The wildlife animals you watch in Ngorongoro include: lion, Leopard, Cheetah, elephant, white Rhino, Black Rhino, buffalo, etc. You shall break off for lunch at midday, then later continue on another session of Game Drive that goes till late evening. Day 5
Wake up early, have breakfast, then transfer on an en-route game drive via the stunning Lake Manyara National Park, where you watch many wildlife animals like tree-climbing lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, bird species, baboons, monkeys, and antelopes.
Afterwards, you shall proceed on a journey to the check-in lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight. Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge.
Day 6
Early morning breakfast, then transfer on a full-day game drive around the stunning Lake Manyara National Park. Traverse various tracks in the park, watching wildlife wander around their natural habitat.
The wildlife animals you watch include: lion, Leopard, Cheetah, elephant, white Rhino, Black Rhino, buffalo, etc. You shall break off for lunch at midday, then later continue on another session of Game Drive that goes till late evening. Dinner and Overnight. Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge.
Day 7
After an early breakfast, pack your bags and depart to exit the Serengeti National Park as you enter the lovely Ngorongoro Crater. An early start to the day is best to avoid the later influx of tourists into the Ngorongoro Crater. The park gate opens at 0600, so it is best to be there as close to this time as possible. Several lions are typically larger in size than an average lion due to the large amount of game in the area. The crater floor tends to get very busy, with there often being numerous vehicles at any wildlife sighting.
Day 8
Drive to Lake Eyasi, a mildly alkaline lake about 55km long. If seeing hundreds of species of birds excites you, Lake Eyasi is a perfect destination for you to see flamingos, pelicans, spoonbills, weavers, spurfowls, storks, barbets, egrets, and more. The visit includes meeting the Hadzabe & Datoga people and spending the day observing their ways. The Hadzabe is an indigenous tribe known as the hunter-gatherer Bushmen. Visit their homesteads and learn more about their lifestyle. Hunting in groups with bows and arrows, this tribe can survive with what the environment provides. The Hadzabe Bushmen treat diseases with their own medicines. The Hadzabe speak a very unique click language. Day 9
After breakfast, pack your bags, depart camp, and transfer to Arusha airstrip. Here you will bid your guide farewell as you board your flight to Zanzibar. Meet and greet upon arrival at the Zanzibar airport exit point by our team, pick up and transfer to your Zanzibar hotel. Check in, freshen up, and spend the rest of the day at your hotel, where you’ll have free time to relax or have leisure walks on the beach. Day 10
Depending on your preference on days 8 and 11, there are a variety of optional activities available. Your days are therefore open to be structured as you choose, with either as much relaxing by the pool or as many activities as you wish. Options are: Option 1: JOZANI & SPICE TOUR. Have breakfast and get ready for the drive to Jozani Forest to enjoy seeing the Red Colobus monkeys. Afterward, proceed to the Spice Farm, where you can see a variety of spice plants and herbs. Testing the fruits and spices will give you the authentic taste. After the tours, drive back to your lodge for dinner & overnight (HB)
Day 11
Wake up, have breakfast, then embark on your departure to the Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you board your flight back home.
