Mkomazi

This national park is located in northeastern Tanzania on the border of Kenya in both the Kilimanjaro and Tanga regions

Mkomazi National Park was established in 1951 as a game reserve and was recently upgraded into a national park in 2005. The national park covers an area of 3234km2(323400 ha) and is dominated by Acacia vegetation. The national park came as a result of the union of the two game reserves, Umba and Mkomazi

How to get to Mkomazi National park.

By road, this national park is easily accessible via Same, that lies on the surface highway connecting Arusha to Dar es Salaam. The national park is also easily accessible on special arrangement through Njiro, Kivingo and Umba gates.
